Handley Chase
Overview
T Balfe Construction appointed TWG to deliver the glazing package for the new Handley Chase Community Centre in Sleaford.
Designed to become the heart of the local community, the new facility will provide a welcoming space for social, recreational, and leisure activities, serving residents of Handley Chase and the surrounding areas for years to come.
Given the nature of a busy public building, the glazing solution needed to provide exceptional durability while achieving low U-values to maximise the building's long-term thermal efficiency. It was essential that the system combined high performance with an attractive, modern appearance and reliable weather resistance.
To meet these requirements, we installed the SMARTS MC600 aluminium curtain walling system, complemented by three Shopline entrance door sets. Engineered specifically for the UK climate, the MC600 system incorporates corrosion-resistant fixings to protect against atmospheric and electrolytic degradation, while integrated drainage trays ensure outstanding weather performance throughout the year.
The curtain walling and doors were finished in the ever-popular RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, supplied as a standard colour with no additional cost to the client, creating a sleek, contemporary façade that complements the building's design.
As part of our package, we also installed four single steel exit doors throughout the building. By providing both the glazing and steel door elements, TWG enabled the main contractor to work with a single, trusted supplier, helping improve programme efficiency and ensure a consistently high-quality finish across all installations.
The completed project provides a durable, energy-efficient, and visually striking entrance solution that will serve the local community for many years to come.
