Overview:
True Window & Glass Centre was appointed as a subcontractor to deliver the replacement of 400 windows at Scunthorpe Hospital. The project was undertaken within a fully operational healthcare facility, requiring strict planning and coordination to ensure minimal disruption to critical clinical services led by operations director, Ryan Calvert.
Working in a live hospital environment presented a number of challenges, including maintaining patient safety, adhering to strict infection control standards, and ensuring continuity of day-to-day operations. To address these requirements, a comprehensive delivery strategy was implemented in collaboration with the main contractor and the estates department.
All installation works were carried out by our own installation teams, who are specifically trained in operating within sensitive healthcare environments. Stringent dust suppression and containment measures were deployed throughout the programme, alongside robust infection prevention and control protocols in line with NHS guidelines.
Where necessary, works were scheduled outside of peak operational hours, including evenings and weekends, to further reduce disruption to patients, staff, and clinical activities.
The project was completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, demonstrating True Window & Glass Centre’s capability to deliver complex refurbishment works within live healthcare settings while maintaining strict compliance and operational sensitivity.
